Travel Highlights

You know how they say “time flies when you’re having fun or when you’re busy!!” Well, it’s so true! Or maybe, time just goes faster the older you get!

The past couple months have been crazy busy with lots of travel and so many things to give thanks to the Lord for!

As part of Avant Ministries, our Missionary Team in Mexico is a joy for us! Our Team Retreat at the beginning of July was restful and encouraging. We played games, worshipped together, had great conversations and shared some delicious food! These folks have been a huge encouragement for us!

The purpose of our Missionary Team is to encourage one another and support one another in prayer and ministry on the field. We maintain contact through our chat group and have regular meetings throughout the year.

Dung Beetle — yup to guessed it! It survives on the excrement of other animals! We encountered this interesting little fellow on a walk where we had our retreat.
July 4 we celebrated with fireworks! For us it was our Canada Day event! Our Team hosted a full day of fun and it ended with this splash of colour!
These women from the church in San Juan del Río, Querétaro made what we call “gorditas”, like a thick corn tortilla filled with meat or beans (Barbacoa in this case), and topped with salsa! Super Delicious!

At the end of June Phil travelled with the National Leadership Development Team north to more central Mexico. They spent some time in training as a team, visited Seminary study groups in those areas to encourage them, presented material to a couple of new groups, and visited several churches. It was delightful to see what God is doing through the Team and in the lives of those who are eager to learn and grow in their faith and walk worth the Lord.
