Return to “Normal”?
After two and a half weeks in Kansas, USA we are grateful to be back in Mexico! Not sure it is a real return to “normal” but it feels so good to sleep in our own bed and be surrounded by more familiar things. We are so thankful for the opportunity and safe trip there and back.
We attended what is called Avant Go, in Kansas City. It’s the final training and send off for new missionaries and for those transitioning into the agency. There were four other families and one single person who joined us on this adventure. We had a lot of fun together and learned a lot during the very informative and practical sessions we had together. There were lots of group activities and sharing times. We made some new colleagues and friends. It’s so amazing to see what God is doing in these people and the places where He has called them. We are excited to hear how God blesses these ministries around the world.
We also had the opportunity to visit with Phil’s brother in Kansas and see how he is doing. We were quite amazed at his progress after such a traumatic health scare – Caring for Family. He is finishing up his Physiotherapy this week and the doctor hopes to start reducing his need for Dialysis soon.
Upon return from our time away, Phil is busy preparing for another ministry trip this week and Carolyn is doing lots more baking. Please pray God’s blessing on this trip as Phil travels with several key leaders and the Leadership Development Team to several churches in the mountains. These visits will be smaller in number since Pandemic restrictions continue to prohibit large gatherings and there is a great need for encouragement.
We are getting back into the swing of things, but it sure takes a bit to get reoriented after being away. Hopefully, we’ll be able to take some much needed vacation later this month and make some time to really rest.
